Walgamwewa has the warm, dry character of the Dambulla region, with temperatures generally around 29–31°C during the cooler months at the start and end of the year, rising to around 33–35°C around March to May. The open countryside brings plenty of breeze, and evenings are noticeably more comfortable. Set among paddy fields and village homes, Walgamwewa is also well placed for visits to Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa and Ritigala, making it a peaceful base for exploring the Cultural Triangle.
