Aṅkura was built using rammed earth, a sustainable construction technique that blends visually with the land. Soil from the site was utilised to construct sturdy, breathable walls that keep the interiors naturally cool. The process became a learning experience for village-folk, who participated in the construction under the guidance of the architect and owner. Woodworking practices of the region were utilised, with a adaptive process of trial, error, and continuous learning. Inspired by the project's particular attention to crafting with the land, some locals have since begun adopting earth construction techniques in their own homes.
